Location Spotlight - Yarmouth

""

Yarmouth is a beautiful town located on the north-westerly side of the Isle of Wight, with the name deriving from the opening of the Western Yar River. Some of its exquisite architectural buildings are some of the oldest on the Isle of Wight, including a 16th century castle. The harbour is also busy with arrivals from both the Wightlink ferry and smaller boats.

There are a number of signature features in the town including Yarmouth Pier which was originally built in 1876. There was also a Gaffers Festival which had been run for over 50 years that regularly attracted tourists and local families.

Come rain or come shine, Tapnell Farm which is short drive from the main town, is also a fantastic location for anybody and in all weathers too. The Farm includes an array of brilliant activities for children, the chance to meet local wildlife, and even feed the wallabies and lambs. There is also a conveniently located café and their Cow Co restaurant is set in a converted Swiss Barn, offering award-winning burgers.

There is also a popular naturalistic walk on your doorstep, allowing access right through to The Needles and Alum Bay and connecting to Tennyson Trail. The views are absolutely breath taking, and it is a beautifully quiet and peaceful surrounding in which to enjoy a picnic and sunset.
