188 Sandown Bay is located in a quiet clifftop holiday park, just a short stroll from the popular Sandy beaches and safe swimming water at Sandown Bay and Yaverland.

This park has around 200 holiday chalets, many of which have been fully modernised. The site is now purely for self catering holiday accommodation, as all the old holiday park amenities have now closed. However, the amazing location of the Chalets and tranquillity of the area are what makes this area special.

The chalet has recently been fully refurbished and is very well maintained and will comfortably sleep 4 people in 2 bedrooms. The master bedroom has a double bed and a second bedroom has bunk beds.

You are welcome to bring your Dog with you and Pets stay for free.

The sandy beaches of Sandown Bay are within easy walking distance, as are popular attractions along the seafront, such as Sandown Zoo, Dinosaur Isle and the new crazy golf course and playground at Sandham. There are some excellent bars and restaurants along the seafront, all with great sea views and a walking distance from the Chalet, so you can leave the car behind.

This chalet can be booked in conjunction with other nearby chalets on the site (number 117) for larger groups.

NB: Please note that towels are not provided, please bring your own - NB: The chalets run on £1 coin operated electricity meters

Interior layout The are 2 bedrooms, a master bedroom with a double bed and a second bedroom with bunk beds, and open plan living and kitchen area and 1 Shower Room with a large shower.

Exterior Lawned communal areas surrounding the chalets with parking areas nearby.

From any of the Ferry ports, head for Sandown and to the Seafront along Culver Parade. Continue eastwards, past the Zoo. Just after the car park on the right, continue up the hill appox 200 yards and take the first right into Sandown Bay Holiday Park. Number 188 is towards the rear of the development. Follow the road round to the left and park in the last car park. Number 188, is a few steps from the car park, facing westwards.


There is ample parking available in front of the property in the various parking bays, and additional space available a few yards away in the overspill area

Suitable base from which to explore the Isle of Wight. Plus the location gave excellent access to Yaverland Beach via a descending gulley path.

The chalet was comfortably furnished inside, although it was a little cramped for two adults and two teenagers. I'm sure it would have been fine for two smaller children. The site was lovely and quiet, a far cry from some of the other holiday parks that we walked past.

As we stayed for a fortnight, our landlady was kind enough to do a washing load for us, which saved the hassle of finding a launderette.

The one negative of our stay was that the wifi went down for 72 hours and even when it was working the signal strength was weak. It turns out that the router is located in a chalet in a different block. Had it been next door, sharing the signal would not have been a problem.

Overall though, we had a good holiday.
