Garlic Farm Café – Newchurch

Garlic Farm Café – Newchurch

Slightly off the beaten track but worth the effort to find, is the very popular Garlic Farm Café & shop, which is nestled within peaceful countryside just below Mersley downs, near Newchurch. The smell of roasted fresh Garlic hits you as soon as you step inside the main entrance and into the Garlic Shop, and the building is wonderfully presented with exposed wooden beams and vaulted ceilings throughout. In the winter, the area around the wood burning stove become very popular, and it’s a great place to stop for a long lunch and savour the amazing food served.

The clue is in the name, and the vast majority of dishes on the menu contain a fair amount of locally grown Garlic (the Island is famous for it), but there’s plenty of options to chose and some great vegetarian dishes to try.

Outside is a large grassed area with some play equipment to keep children entertained. You’re also likely to spot some of the farms resident Peacocks who can often be seen right outside the Café.

The Café is open all year round from 9am to 5pm, and sometimes till 6pm in the Summer.
